Huawei P Smart Review: Overview & Price
The Huawei P Smart is Huawei’s killer budget phone! In this Huawei P Smart review UK we will be looking at what makes this phone unique, and showing you the best Huawei P Smart deals.
Sitting at an affordable price of around £229 to buy outright in the UK.
Alternatively, you can bag a Huawei P Smart contract deal at around £15 per month here in the UK. It is perfect for those who are interested in Huawei but their budget doesn’t stretch to the P20 or P20 Pro.
We absolutely love the Huawei P Smart design, it’s well built and doesn’t feel like a budget smartphone at all, it also looks very premium too.
The phone comes with a sim ejector tool, a warranty card, a micro USB for charging, 50-page starter card and a pair of earphones.

Ultimately, the P smart is trying to fill a gap in the market for good but affordable phones. Succeeding in this, many are shocked to learn, it runs from Android 8.0 Orio and EMUI 8, has dual cameras and a very fast fingerprint scanner.
Huawei P Smart Review: Design & Display
The Huawei P Smart display is one of its main features, attracting many consumers! It has an unusual size of 5.65-inches which strikes a good balance for someone who wants a slightly larger display but doesn’t want a 6inch (as this can sometimes feel too big).
With a full HD resolution it produces pretty bright and sharp images.
- Dual camera for Rear Camera 13MP + 2MP
- 5.65" FHD and 18: 9 full view screen solution
- 3G RAM, 32GB ROM, Octa core platform
- Support Fingerprint, 3000mAh Battery
- Smart multitasking. Hands - free selfie. Speed sharing
The resolution is the same as Huawei mate 10 Pro, a phone which costs double the P smart.
The body is made almost entirely from aluminium and is very slim and light resulting in the body feeling very solid and doesn’t many any odd sounds when applying pressure.

Huawei P Smart Review: Camera
The Huawei P Smart has 2 cameras, they are 13+2-megapixel autofocus cameras which are actually surprisingly good for such a low-cost phone and produces some fantastic images.
Also, it comes with a wide range of settings such as a wide aperture mode and a motion picture mode.

The camera is one of the major features which fans of Huawei phones will really appreciate it.
Again with other Huawei phones there is a fair bit of colour processing that goes on but the photos turn out ready for social media (if you’re into posting on Instagram regularly).
However, the phone does not offer any stabilisation which can often lead to blurry shots and a very frustrated user.
This being said, the overall picture quality is surprisingly good and although the phone lacks AI scene processing like some other high-end phones it still delivers sharp, good quality images.
Given how cheap the Huawei P Smart can be attained on a contract deal, we feel the camera provides exceptional value for money.
Huawei P Smart Review: Performance
The general UI of the phone shares a lot of the same DNA as its cousin the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, which is not a bad thing as the skin Huawei use on top of the Android is one of the most complete that we have ever seen.
It offers features such as a smart split-screen mode and smart sharing between other Huawei phones, meaning you don’t need a Wifi connection or a cable in order to transfer data from one phone to another.
Under the phone it’s packed with the Kirin 659 and 3BG of RAM – the performance speaks for itself!
Everything is very smooth and fluid on this phone and there is no lag when running multiple apps at the same time and gaming on the max frame rate with 1080p resolution.
However, although the Huawei P smart is a fantastic phone it does not come with features such as fast charging or water resistance, which would not be expected with such a low price tag.
But, the phone does come with 32GB of storage, although 10GB is already taken as soon as you take the phone out of the box, so an SD card is highly recommended for this phone.
Huawei P Smart Review: Battery Life
The Huawei P Smart has a 3000mAh battery, this will easily get you through a full day of using the phone, this, of course, depends on how you use the device.
If you are going to be using the Huawei P Smart for performance, as in playing games and streaming movies, then you will find that this decreases the battery power a lot faster.
- Dual camera for Rear Camera 13MP + 2MP
- 5.65" FHD and 18: 9 full view screen solution
- 3G RAM, 32GB ROM, Octa core platform
- Support Fingerprint, 3000mAh Battery
- Smart multitasking. Hands - free selfie. Speed sharing
However, the Huawei P smart does not quite reach the performance of the Mate 10 Pro. One reason being, it does not come with fast charging.
Huawei P Smart Review: Summary
The Huawei P Smart is a solid budget phone and does a lot more than you would get from say a Samsung Galaxy J3 or an A5.
This phone is perfect for someone wanting a decent spec phone, who likes to take photos and store music on their phone (after attaining an SD card).
We would definitely recommend this phone as the price tag is low and the value for money is very good.

The Huawei P Smart display is nice and big, so if you are looking for a phone to watch plenty of media, Netflix and Youtube on, then this could be the phone for you.
